Declaration of Interests. (new paragraph in italics)
Grand Lodge are keen to find out which Local Authorities are continuing to single out Freemason employees for declaration of membership or are using Freemasonry as an example of a 'secret society' which requires declaration.

The Provincial Information Officer would be grateful if you could make enquiries and if possible, forward the necessary paperwork (or at least tell him where to find it on the internet). Your personal details will of course be treated with the utmost confidence.

Please send all relevant information to Brian Wright, 'Caradon', School Lane, Great Wigborough, Colchester. CO5 7RJ or bwright4609@yahoo.co.uk

Rulings in the European Court leave no doubt that requirements for a 'declaration of interest' which are specifically aimed at Freemasonry are illegal, and these are challenged in the most robust manner. Many Councils have now withdrawn all references to Freemasonry in their recruitment documentation for Council employees. As has the Justice Department in their dealings with Judges and JP's.
Portsmouth City Council and Fareham Borough Council have now withdrawn all references to Freemasonry in their recruitment documentation for Council employees. Hertfordshire County Council have also withdrawn references to Freemasonry in their recruiting documentation.
